Life is opening up…

Its been almost 130 days since I started writing here..
So far..I’ve published 91 articles (excluding this one..)..
I try to write as emotionlessly as possible….
I base all the articles that are posted on this blog on newspaper reports and not on poetry overflowing with emotions..
But, I can’t help it at times..
And I post after a long, long break.. its been almost a month since I last posted here..
And, at the time of writing of this post, I’m only half awake.. so any thing that should not be here will be removed later on when I wake up tomorrow and realize what I’ve written…
(1) College .. The biggest topic we’ve had in years… The old batch is gone.. replaced by a new batch..
St Pauls (and some other schools that I don’t remember ..{cough} ) are far away.. New friends, new books.. and as far as I can see.. kind of an another chance.. a change in my lifestyle..
(2) Old Friends .. are old friends are old friends are old friends are old friends and almost all of them are Paulians..
(3) The really old friends .. are really faraway and some don’t know that I exist..
(4) Agra .. is the same old city that I love and hate and love and its all great..
(5) Emotions .. “I love waving at them as they pass me by..!” ..
(6) Blogging .. for me and some of my pals was a stroke of shear genius..
(7) Exams .. I have them for lunch every ten days or so.. And I hate the appetizers..
(8) The Diwali Holidays .. are the best holidays of the year.. though I think that the semester-end holidays are gonna replace them as the best of the year..
(9) My Dog .. is alright.
(10) Gambling .. I didn’t gamble.. Its all part of the festivities..And I’ve been lucky..
(11) I’ll add more stuff to this list.. Soon.

September 13, 2008 · 6 Comments
I’m hearing good things about the Teachers’ Day 08′ function (that was) at Pauls..I know..Its hard for people of my batch to even remotely think that any Teachers’ Day function can be better than ‘our’ Teachers’ Day function i.e. Teachers’ Day 07′ with the movie and all.. Whatever it is you think, here are some pics….
I’ll post some more interesting pics and some real amazing videos of the function real soon…

Shashank Singh has been awarded the status of ‘MR.FRESHER’ …
The college : I.I.L.M., Greater Noida..
Though this news is insignificant to most, it is significant and entertaining to a selected few. For obvious reasons.
Nuff’ said.

Fresher’s ( ‘Welcome’ ) Party over… hopefully no sneaking around one’s own class from Monday… Hopefully.
September 6, 2008 · Leave a Comment
The Fresher’s Welcome Party is over. Finally. Although we were supposed to check in at 8 am today in the college but a good samaritan (and a friend) from 4th year advised us not to do so and reach college at 10 am instead..
But even that wasn’t good enough.. since we were butchered for about half an hour by our seniors before they finally let us go when the teachers came in to check on us…
The guy who told us to show up late at college told us so at about 7.10 am ,but by then we were already standing at the bus stop.. Too late to turn back.. or so we thought before we headed to Akbar’s tomb at Sikandra to spend two hours there.. I had a faint sense of ‘deja-vu’ as I entered the main monument at Sikandra.. I had been to Sikandra many, many years ago..8 years, I think…But, it was beautiful..and calm..and luckily the weather was great too.. Here are some snaps:
The time (7.30 am) meant that the whole place was deserted..
We didn’t sit through the entire function… what we did, instead, was sit through half of the time, grabbed something to eat and made a silent exit… I couldn’t snap the photos of all the happenings on the stage since I was seated faraway from it and I decided that no snaps were better than blurry snaps…
Here’s a photo snapped before we made our getaway..
Now that the Freshers’ party is over, we can, finally, slip to canteen without worrying that someone will wish us ‘Good Afternoon Sir’ with his head way down and that we’ll recieve a trashing if word gets out…
Monday.Monday.Monday.

Its a Sunday!
August 30, 2008 · Leave a Comment
Here I am.. again. After a week. Man..
In St Pauls and in {cough} MPS, every other day was a Sunday.. And on the other days in between that weren’t Sundays, we had fetes, plays, dances, science exhibitions, art and craft exhibitions, sports days, Founders’ Days and what not.
But all that has changed now. A week is now no longer 7 days. There are now atleast 20 days in a week, if you know what I mean. And each and every one of the 20 days is a Monday. So, in a week, we have Monday, Monday, Monday, Monday,Monday, Monday,Monday, Monday,Monday, Monday,Monday, Monday,Monday, Monday,Monday, Monday,Monday, Monday,Monday, Monday. You must’ve understood by now what I mean. Everything is relative.
After studying Einstein for some days now, I can confidently say that time has slowed down in my college. That means that my college is moving ahead with the speed of light. That is both true and false. Depending on how you look at it. The mild shock can still unsettle me at times. But I’m settling in. We’re all settling in.
Tomorrow’s a Sunday. And then I’ve got 20 Mondays after that. So I’m gonna have to squeeze everything in the 24 hours of a (very) rare Sunday.. Well..as the song goes.. “Sunday Bloody Sunday…”.. though ‘The Troubles’ and ‘Our Troubles’ have nothing in common…
Well..as I said before..Its all relative.

College. Starts. Soon. Freaking out. Starts. Now.
August 17, 2008 · Leave a Comment

Man..they graduated a long, long time ago.. in 1899
Thats right..Most of the colleges in U.P.T.U. are starting tomorrow..
That means that our holidays..the sweet, sweet holidays are over, people..OVER.
Why did they have to start so soon?
Some of my pals who are gonna attend some colleges in the South still have about a month to go!..A month.
My timetable’s all messed up.. Its gonna take some time for me to settle down into college-mode.
Especially since it has been a month and a half since I read something..
Plus some of my apocalyptic nut’ pals are telling me that we’ve got class tests from the 12th of the next month.. That is so freakin’ insane that its almost funny.. Almost.
Plus, due to college, I’m gonna have to cut down on my blogging and my Twittering..
And I’ll have to cut down on College Humor.. During these holidays, I watched each and every one of the videos on that site.. Each and every one.. Man.. That was fun.

In fact, here’s a list of the videos I enjoyed the most.. Have fun.. And watch each and everyone of them (Believe me.)..If you don’t have enough time to view all of them (which you should..), then play the ones in bold.. :
- Guy stuck in Class
- My Bloody Valentine
- New Guy
- Phone Call
- Nut Tappers
- Office Tour
- Superheroes
- Pledge of Allegiance
- Collage Humor
- Pee Chain
- Bizarro Office
- Phone fight
- Overgrown guy girlfriend
- Cool English teacher
- Honest College Ad
- Internet Commentator Funeral
- Bless you
- Amir’s Audition
- Streeter Bombs
- Streeter’s Big Date
- Awkward Rap
I posted some great videos on this blog earlier (‘Anti Drug Dog’ and ‘He’s right behind me..’)..Check them out if you haven’t already..they’re great..
Have fun in college’

The Parents Won the Match. Again.
August 15, 2008 · 2 Comments
These are the photographs which were snapped by me today in St Pauls..
St Pauls hosts a football match annually where parents of some students are pitted against the current school football team..
The officiators today were Navdeep Singh, Apurv Gupta and Rohit Singh..

Before the Match..Thats the new building in the background..Although its still under construction, I heard that some portions of it are being used to teach students..But I couldn't verify this..Its hard to believe this considering the no. of construction workers on the site..
The match started a few minutes before ten.. And yeah..in case you missed it (or the heading), the parents won again..♣
You can check out some more photos that I snapped today on my Flickr photostream ..
